Youth Mental Health Service
Dedicated youth workers working within the main support hubs and also with Pathfinder providers in other areas.
Who is this for?
Those aged 16-25 who are feeling anxious or depressed, self-harming, having family problems or are struggling with friendships at college or at work because of mental health problems. Also for those diagnosed with a mental health problem and looking for support, for getting help from services as current help may be coming to an end as they reach 18. Also for parents worried about their child who can ring for advice, information and support.
West Sussex Mind is a Pathfinder Alliance partner offering support to anyone experiencing or caring for someone with mental health issues of any sort whether these are new, long-term or someone has a mental illness diagnosis, they can offer support directly or advise where to find information and further help.
What to Expect
Youth workers offer one to one support at offices and in other places including local colleges. There is a flexible approach to introductions so arrangements can be made to meet at a convenient time and location. Will work to understand what is needed and support to try and achieve goals.
There are regular social activities consisting of small groups which are relaxed and informal. The young people who attend are involved in deciding what activities would suit them best.
