Mental Health Support
15 Jun 2021

Sometimes, it's difficult to interpret changes in a friend or colleague's behaviour when they may be having problems with their mental health.

The BBC news website recently published a piece including a couple of scenarios which could help readers tell if people may be in need of support. One scenario focuses on how to recognise if someone is suffering from anxiety, and the other on depression.

As the scenarios progress, they suggest ways in which people can be helped by being asked about themselves in a supportive, non-judgemental way. There are also suggestions for resources that those affected by anxiety or depression can be guided to.

The BBC piece, including scenarios, can be read in full here. It is based on a study published by the Mental Health Foundation in February.
