Mental Health Support
11 Jan 2023

West Sussex Mind is hosting a free online event to get people talking about identity and mental health with a range of themes to explore. Why not join the conversation?

Our identities and mental health experiences. They are complicated, heart-breaking, messy and sometimes really obvious, but they are a great starting point to open conversations, share ideas and foster understanding.

West Sussex Mind’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Co-Production Panel is hosting a unique event on Thursday 2 February 2023, 12.00-2.30pm, on national Time to Talk Day. The event uses stories, ideas and resources to help participants dig a bit deeper on topics around identity and mental health, and these topics will be explored using “digital living rooms” on Zoom.

Following an introduction, where participants will share their hopes for the day, people will have the opportunity to join a digital living room for their topic of choice, before reconvening as a whole group to reflect on the day.

The topics for the digital living rooms are:

  • Faith, sexuality, mental health and me

  • Diagnosed with ADHD as an adult: the before and after

  • Adoption, my personal(ity) journey

  • Time to talk about menopause

  • Time to talk about racism and mental health

  • Time to talk about the power of peer support

  • Time to talk about refugees and mental health

  • Time to talk about the Polish community and mental health
